Can I be seen online?
Usually, yes, if you're physically in Oregon or Washington at the time of the visit. We also see people in person at the Vancouver office. If you're outside those states, we may not be able to see you clinically.
FAQ
Most of what people want to know before they reach out is the boring logistics, and that's fine, we'd rather you ask now than guess later. Booking, telehealth, what insurance does and doesn't cover, how billing works, the student thing, cancellations, privacy. It's all below. If your question isn't here, the answer is at the bottom, just ask us.
We can't control your insurance, but we won't be the ones surprising you.
Quick answers
Some people want every policy detail. Some people just need to know whether reaching out is worth the effort. These are the answers most people are actually trying to get before they fill out a form, send a text, or book a first visit.
Usually, yes, if you're physically in Oregon or Washington at the time of the visit. We also see people in person at the Vancouver office. If you're outside those states, we may not be able to see you clinically.
We take many major commercial plans and can also give you a superbill when your plan has out-of-network benefits. We can't work with Medicare or Medicaid, and we won't pretend insurance is less annoying than it is.
Use the appointment page or contact form, tell us what you're looking for, and a real person reviews it. If the calendar is being difficult, the form still gets you into the right workflow.
We'll say so clearly. Sometimes outpatient psychiatry isn't enough and a higher level of care is the safer call. If that happens, we'd rather point you in the right direction than force a bad fit.
One more useful distinction: forms, texts, portal messages, and emails are for routine care, scheduling, follow-up questions, and getting pointed to the right next step. They aren't a crisis line and they aren't monitored every minute. If something is urgent or safety is on the line, use emergency services or a local crisis resource instead of waiting for a clinic reply. When in doubt, send the ordinary question and we'll route it to the right person.

The money part
We take most of the major commercial carriers in Oregon and Washington, and we'll bill your plan for you.
We work directly with: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Providence Health Plans, First Choice Health Network, and most of the other big commercial plans.
Not with one of those? No problem. A lot of plans still cover 60-80% of your visit. We'll send you a Superbill so you can submit it for reimbursement. Call your insurance and ask about out-of-network benefits, they'll tell you exactly what's covered.
We're not able to work with Medicare or Medicaid patients.
We keep a card on file and run it before your appointment, unless we've worked out something different.
Not feeling the card option? Talk to us before the appointment so we can look at payment plans or CareCredit.
If you'd rather pay out of pocket, you pay at the time of your visit and there's nothing waiting to surprise you later.
Full fee schedule lives in your welcome packet, and if anything on our end changes, you'll hear it from us first. We can't control your insurance, but we won't be the ones surprising you.

How we run things
If you cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours notice, we'll have to charge the full appointment fee. In some situations your provider may waive or reduce it to $200, at their discretion.
We get that life happens, but short notice makes it tough to fill the spot, and our time, like yours, is valuable. Please reach out as soon as you know.
We work with Nurse Practitioner, Medical, and Physician Assistant students. They get hands-on learning under our close supervision. Every treatment decision is a team effort between student and supervising clinician.
You might see students joining sessions, telehealth or in-person. It's part of how we help train the next wave of providers. Participation is essentially required to work with us, while it's your choice to opt out, we may not be able to continue care if you do.
Getting a psych eval doesn't automatically mean you become a patient here. Sometimes a higher level of care is the right call. If that's the case, we'll connect you with programs that fit better.
If we're a good match, we'll lay out recommendations. If you're not on board with the plan, no hard feelings, you should be working with someone whose approach feels right.
We expect you to:
If things don't work out, you'll have enough refills (~a month) to find a new provider.
HIPAA-compliant in every system. Everything from records to messaging to scheduling. Your story stays between us, just like it should be.
Just ask. We'd rather field a question now than make you guess later.
