ADHD
What It Is:
ADHD affects focus, organization, and follow-through, making it hard to stay on task. It’s not about laziness but about how the brain processes information.
What This Might Look Like:
You may struggle with maintaining focus, completing tasks, or staying organized. For some, hyperactivity or impulsiveness can also be present.
How This Could Impact Your Life:
ADHD can impact academic, professional, and personal life, leading to challenges in completing projects or maintaining routines. Without support, it may create frustration or low self-esteem.
Statistics:
ADHD affects about 8.4% of U.S. children and around 2.5% of adults. With treatment, many individuals learn to manage symptoms effectively.
Gold Standard for Treatment:
Medication, such as Adderall or Vyvanse, paired with behavioral therapy, is often effective. As a PMHNP, I can provide medication management and offer tools for organization and focus.
